Water Mission is looking for a dedicated Director of Operations – Africa Region to oversee and coordinate the implementation of our vital water programs across East Africa. Reporting directly to the Senior Director – Africa Region, this position is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all of our country programs, driving successful project implementation, and fostering a culture of God-honoring excellence. As a key leader within the organization, the Director of Operations will be responsible for managing teams of engineers, technicians, and program staff while ensuring projects align with Water Mission’s mission and values. The role involves leading program planning, project execution, and monitoring while ensuring compliance with financial, safety, and operational standards. Additionally, the Director will cultivate relationships with government agencies, donors, and communities to strengthen Water Mission's impact and presence in the region.
This Nairobi-based position requires extensive travel across East Africa, with expectations to spend 25-50% of the year in remote field locations. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in project management, demonstrated leadership in challenging environments, and a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
